The work 'Malik' is part of Anton Laborde’s “jungles” series, where the lush, untamed nature becomes the stage for introspection or a form of transcendence.
The figure, dressed in white, rests in a vegetal setting with deep, rich colours. In front of him, a lotus flower made of mother-of-pearl floats, seemingly suspended. A symbol of the heart, it resonates with the character’s immaculate attire, suggesting an inner dialogue. The slight tilt of the head conveys tension, an inner struggle. Yet, the closed eyes and faint smile hint at a process of transformation or transcendence in progress.
Between gratitude, spirituality, and elevation, this work intimately combines the human and the sacred.
